Did you replace the rubber brake line? A collapsed brake line will do what you describe. Also check that the metal brake line to the right front caliper isn't damaged. If the metal brake line is damaged it will do the same thing. If you have pressure in the line to the right front caliper, when you open the bleeder on that caliper it will squirt fluid out. At that point you should be able to rotate the hub with the caliper open. Don't drive it with the caliper open.

I feel your pain.
Can't help though except to guess that if your car has electronic traction control or something like that, it is coming on and staying on. Or maybe the pads you installed are too thick or some other issue.

As for "Maybe someday I can find out how the other half lives ??" We have classic Minis!

Hi- I’m not really a forum kinda gal but desperate times call for desperate measures, aka asking the internet for help because I’m just straight up out of ideas.

Let’s get this out of the way first- I’ve been working on my car since I bought it, all repairs have been done by me with the exception of a harmonic balancer replacement. I don’t have the money for dealer repairs, if you do, I applaud you. Maybe someday I can find out how the other half lives ??

Okay onto the matter at hand:

2015 F56 Mini Cooper

So November- brake light comes on while I’m driving home in the rain. The car is magically pulling on things that are not puddles and feels like I’m hydroplaning. So I go alrighty well brake light is on lemme change out the pads. I order the pads and swap the back ones, sensor, and rotors. End up needing something else for the front at autozone. Waited til the next day and do those front ones and the sensor in the autozone parking lot. Front right caliper won’t compress. The initial thought was a rusted out front right caliper that wouldn’t compress back when I was changing my pads. (Car is from the east coast) I toss the old pad on the front right and prepare for a very slow drive home. I then get about 20 seconds out of the lot, look down and at my raging 25 mph my RPMs are at 3000. Sick. I pull over and get the car towed home. Dude backs it off the tow truck in front of my parking garage and I can’t move it. Friend comes over and does idk what and gets the caliper to release and drives it downstairs. We then replace front calipers. That doesn’t fix it. Then we move to master cylinder and booster, nothing. Now brake switch. And I am officially out of my depth. Lmao

My car will start, is functionally fine with the exception of actually letting me MOVE it. l've replaced: rear rotors, front calipers, all 4 pads, master cylinder, brake booster, and today the brake switch, along with 3 brake bleeds just to round it all off.

Previously had only a brake light come on, which went away after a few of those replacements above. Brake light is now back with a vengeance along with some new and exciting errors like the ones I’ll drop below.

I've got a Mini/BMW specific OBD that I snagged on a rec I saw someone post on Reddit to try to get more into these codes (had a generic one before bc this car hasn't ever given me issues until now and these codes are what I got today under the ever special ABS section:

D3549C Signal (Terminals, 116.0.2) Invalid, Transmitter BDC-Z GN

4809AB DSC: Undervoltage In vehicle

This was directly after replacing brake switch which I disconnected the battery for so l went through and double checked my battery connections and tried clearing codes again and undervoltage code went bye bye but other one won't clear. I’ve previously gotten a DTC code that ended up disappearing with pad/sensor change.

Also have the cool new “Brake Lamp Control Malfunction” which is so fun. (Years ago my driver/left taillight burnt out due to a faulty ground and ended up having an audio installer friend rewire it for me so it wouldn’t happen again so it can’t be that)

TL;DR 2015 F56 Mini Cooper won’t move and has brake light on and is throwing codes that I am not educated enough to resolve so I am crying to the internet in hopes that someone somewhere knows more than me and can explain what I can’t begin to understand.
