I think what Spitz was trying to say that even though the 1275GT had/has the Clubman style square nose, it was not referred to as a "Clubman".

The S20D on the slam panel tag indicates a 1275GT but since those are pop-rivetted on and are very beatup it's hard to say if they are original to the car or were placed there for some other purpose. All the pictures you have provided are closeups and make it very hard to tell anything about the car in general. Post some pictures of the entire car, the dash and the steering column and we might be able to give you some idea of what you are working with.

No such thing as a 1275GT Clubman either  ;)    Just 1275GT

If doing a proper resto, you'd need to be using a 1275GT engine.  Very obvious to see it's not a 76 GT engine.

If doing a build.....then I see no issues with using this engine  ( just don't try and call it a full restoration )

Every Mini has value. Some more, some less. You could put a Honda Vtec motor in it and it would still have value to someone. Putting an A+ into a 1275GT would have (in my opinion) more value than the Vtec, but to a collector or purist looking for something that is truly original would prefer a car that had an A-series 1275cc engine matching what would have been originally installed in the factory. If that engine was the original one that had the serial number that matched the build, then a purist would prefer that and be willing to pay more.

I notice from your photos that the car appears to have a pre-verto clutch, which suggests it might have the original transmission. I also notice a couple of electrical relays on the firewall, which a 1275GT might not have had.

Restoring a car to as-built originality can be tough and expensive. A 50+/- year-old car will have seen several owners and received many modifications over the years. The farther you go down the restoration road, the less likely you will recover your costs.

Yes, 1275GTs didnt come with A+ motors.
Million dollar question: as an antique would it have any value if i restore this A+ engine and put it in a 1275 GT clubman?

I'm not a restoration purist with a bunch of know-it-all in my head, but I don't believe the 1275GT came with an A+ motor from the factory. I'm willing to be told I'm wrong.

it's a A+ engine is all I can tell from your photo. Post a more complete one and we can identify if it is 1275 or 998

According to the owners logbook (dvla) it is a 1275 GT model from 1976
with engine model number "91A" from AUSTIN and the engine number is "A163904"
