rear brake hoses may be collapsing inside.  Does the pedal get hard?

As already noted that's totally normal.

Most of the braking should be done by the front brakes so if rear's are "grabby" that would indicate to me that the front brakes are not working as well as the rear so may need looking at.

edit: If it bothers you, you can take some sand paper to it but that looks pretty on par with what I've seen even on the ford drums I've gotten for my truck.

brand new Minimania rear drum, with 30 miles on it. Rear brakes are "grabby" especially first few stops.

drum cutting tool left chatter marks. Certainly not smooth.

This is not high magnification, just a smartphone photo.
What do you think?

PS. I am not talking about the dark specks. That is just brake dust, not all brushed off.
