No.
I've agreed a deal. I stick to it. But you can bet that others would have banged another £1500 on it...

Bluedragon spelled it out. However, there are a few of us still around to share the knowledge we have (and NOT share the the knowledge we don't have).
Welcome back by the way!

Too bad, this place used to be extremely helpful, with lots of collective knowledge and experience....

Basically, IMHO, this site is only a shadow of its former self due to poor administration and policies. Basically, the site was unable to control two types of posters:
1) the troublemakers who just wanted attention and posted all kinds of BS advice (like filling your crankcase with diesel then running it for a while to clean out the motor.) They polluted every topic with their "observations" and the administrators didn't control them until many members left for good.
2) The crusty so-called old veterans who thought this was their private joke board and liked to insult other posters, especially new users and MINI owners. They'd then cry PC or it was only a joke when called out. No problem if they stuck to their own threads but they'd always pollute other people's threads.
For example, every time a new MINI owner posted, the first thing they'd do is tell them to get a real Mini. Funny thing is that some of those people were supposedly Mini businesspersons and they couldn't figure out that interest in modern MINIs would eventually drive interest in the classics.
The aircooled Porsche vendors are raking it in because of all the millenials and late Gen-Xers who bought watercooled Porsches the last 20 years. Those people are now snapping up even 912's at crazy (to me) prices.
The other problem (which could maybe be helped if there was growth in the classic Mini market) is that the enthusiast base, sad to say, isn't getting any younger, probably the other way. Which probably means, if it hasn't already, over time...

Thanks Kermy, but it's gone to Virginia. I coveted that white car, but the timing was not right. Renters don't have to pay because of Covid, and Landlords can't evict because of Covid. That white car with the original blue interior re-installed ticked all my boxes, but timing is everything. Steve has nothing to offer, now.

Finally, after a decade or two, I am in a position to once again acquire another Mini, but the pickings seem to be slim, and prices have gone the way of lumber, since pre-Pandemic days, through the roof! ... Roll up windows, a must, so no Mk I Or II doors. A/C a plus, engine, suspension and interior mods, like my former '72 Mk III, known as DAEK, it's UK Reg number, from Michael Waterjohns in the UK, IIRC??? I don't get onto this site very often, but can be reached at bill(at)mitchel(dot)net. Or 8 six 0-3 nine 1- 17 hundred.
Shout out to Big Al, Howie, Alex and Susie, Neal, Huge Cannon, and I even send my regards to the skunkmaster, king of MOT failures, Bill Cox!!! ??
