Sorry just getting back to a PC this mourning. My strips and clips were original.

The 3m trim/emblem tape works well also, that is what they use on those plastic aftermarket window/wind guard things and they are a bear to remove after a while on the vehicle.

Onetim, you said "I installed the early original strips and clips for the large holes", did you use the Bresco clips? The "chrome" strip is aftermarket and I haven't purchased the clips yet. I was hoping to get some input on the Bresco clips before I purchased them. Thanks again.

A search has come up with a few alternate methods:
1. Use of clips from Bresco, wonder how well these work. One post method mentioned they required some modification. ??? Not much info on how well these work.
2. 3m tape – purchased a roll, ½ inch diameter, this seems abit too narrow and since the chrome strip is mostly concave with only 1.4 flange at bottom and 1/16 inch at top. Not much surface for the tape to adhere to on the chrome strip. I think 3/4 inch width would be too wide.
3. RTV adhesive, is this a silicone adhesive? So far, seems like it might be the best alternative. So, wondering if there is anything in addition to consider when considering these alternatives, or anything new out there-- adhesive, clips, etc. Any input appreciated.
