The hairlip!  Hahaha!  That was a legend when I started on this forum in 1999/2000!  Thanks for sharing this one, again!

And I see that BC is still around, stirring the pot.  Boy, I miss the days when he was the one villain on the forum.  Seems that there have been quite a few with stupic attitudes over the years (I'm going through and catching up on threads, I see a lot of posts from people with zero filters). Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

Left you a VM buddy.  It's been a LONG time!

I still love mini's but life has a way of moving on (and slowing you down) so it's Jeeps these days.

In fact, if I remember right, Kurt called the Sheriff on you Bill.  You owed Kurt a ton, failed to meet your obligations and had to try to work out a deal with him.  The Blue Goose deal was that you were to work it out with Kurt....

Anyone who knows MonteCarloMini's and Bill Cox knows you were banned for a reason.  I've been away from Mini's since selling the MiniRun car back in 2006 or 2007 and was just looking to see if any of the news stuff was still out there for another project I'm working on (Jeeps) and found my name disparaged here (not cool).  I lost my shirt to help out a charity and you're here spreading nonsense.  Nice.

Bill, you still telling stories?  What nonsense.  You had a battle with Kurt whom you owed, he was the one who refused to ship anything to anyone (and he sold off all my tools while I was out of work and desperate to get them back but in need of work first -- he would not wait, sold everything, some of which were gifts from my old man and all of which were worth several times what I owed him but that's all water under the bridge now).

No sheriff involved, no money owed to you Bill (weren't you banned?)  and while the Blue Goose was rotting and I had to do a ton of repairs it was nice that you sponsored it to us for the start.

Didn't that all end in tears ?

Seem to remember that most of the money raised went towards buying the guy the car and fixing it up.

He was at mmwest in 2001 in Florence Oregon with it and I think he went across country in it but I can’t remember how he got the mini back to Washington?? It’s a little sketchy back there.
I drove the car from WA to the east but missed making it to MME, turned around in Zanesville OH and drove the car back.

We shipped the car via truck freight from MonteCarloMinis (that's how we got it).

Actually, it ended pretty well aside from the lack of fund raising and we were being asked about doing a 60 minutes episode but 911 happened and it all changed.  However, we did get a representative from the Presidents office to sit with one of the AWOS reps and helped some ladies get out of bad situations.

As for the money, I spent a LOT of money and the charity failed to actually do any fund raising (Originally the run had nothing to do with a charity at all, it was about writing, then the charity was considered and dropped (MADD wanted $250k to use their name and a garauntee so we dropped that like a hot potato).  However, AWOS came along and asked to work with us, we agreed but they didn't actually raise any funds despite my appearing on TV and radio all over the country.

We did some good, had a great time, lost a ton of money (I was self funded aside from my sponsors who were awesome and helped out in many ways!).

As for Bill, he was the worst and everyone here knew it (and he's hiding under a different name here now I see).  I actually tried to get in tough with him to return some pics but he was gone off the face of the earth.

I don't know if I'm miserable, but I am having fun. And if I offend certain people then more the fun ;) Ground off the lip and re-fit. all is well now and at least a few who have a sense of humor got at best; a laugh, and at worst; an eye roll :)

I remember the 'hairlip'.   That was funny!   I forgot all about it.

I recently converted my Rover Mini to Mk1 tail lights.    Now I am converting it back.    I just don't wanna be that guy.
