I just might disconnect the battery, because the engine check light was on along with the ABS. I took it to my service guy and they said the codes that came up were for something with the frontend. Like maybe a bearing, but everything is working the way it should and they couldn't find anything wrong. I called Mini Cooper help line and the guy told me he's not a mechanic, and really couldn't help me. I thought that is why they have a help line..... Thanks for the help.

I always. tow in neutral.. make sure you have good safety chain.. I have had the straps break on the way to MME in 01 in NJ.. thank god the classic mini did NOT fall off on the I 95..ps fyi guess you could just flat tow.??. VW guys make a great universal towing Kit.fpr $99. I use them all the time when I buy NON runners split window VW vans to send back to the UK.. as then I just ship RORO on Wallenius or K Line.. from port Charleston SC..

If the tow dolly platform the car sits on can pivot then you do not need to leave the steering unlocked. If it does not pivot then the steering should be unlocked. You might want to look into a way to dis-connect the battery for towing. There are devices made to do that easily.
"How can anything bigger be mini?"

We are getting ready to hit the road in our RV, and we are dolly towing a 2012 Coupe (manual Trans). Just checking to see if anyone has any do's or don'ts for us?
I called Mini Cooper to see if we needed to do anything with the key fob or the trans. They thought it didn't matter if it was in gear or neutral, and to keep the key fob in.
I saw another article on youtube that said to leave the key in the ignition, to keep the wheels unlocked. Not sure what that is all about???
I did tow it on my dolly with my pickup and when I took it off the ABS light was on. But when I started it up and drove it a little ways it went off. Thanks
