FWIW I had a call from a former customer as I was traveling and he was negotiating a deal on a Mini. Yesterday he called and said the deal was done so now I have something to put on the trailer when I head back. Gotta love it when a plan comes together! I can't tell you the number of times I have made a trip with only one haul and had someone call me during the trip and fill up my trailer for the return trip. I think someone is looking after me. Life is good!

It has been a good trip, except spending 7 hours dropping off the car and box containing the rest of the car.. Kinda like an IKEA Mini...some assembly required! I tried putting photos on here but they were too large.

Hugh left Knoxville at 3 PM Friday with his son and was sitting at the port in California when it opened at 8 AM on Monday!
2100 miles.  I could not have done it. I am glad  that Hugh is well and back to hauling Minis again!  Anyone got anything for him to haul back East?

Well as I'm getting stronger every day, it's time for me to finish delivering the Mini I was taking to California when I got sick. Wow, hard to believe I picked up the Mini in November to take to the port. Port delays pushed it to December and the cancer surgery kept pushing it further out. Well, all I can say at this point is that the guy who bought it last fall is incredibly patient and understanding. Also, when Dr Mini commits to do something he does it! So, now I head to California (with my son as co-pilot) and really looking forward to the road trip. Anybody need anything moved back this way? We'll have an empty trailer on the return trip!

I had one delivered by Hugh.
   took the long route.

Indiana to North Georgia to final drop in Charlotte.

When in Ga,  Hugh picked up a cleanout of parts  The van was more loaded than the trailer.   When Delivered, i needed an a+ Distrubutor... Guess who had one on hand in the van.   SOLD

Time for some Hugh “Stories”.............

As Hugh ( Dr Mini) was well known to everyone in the mini community because of his mini hauling service, folklore stories are rampant-

Hugh was never known to have expensive equipment ( other than when he had the two new F150 pickups) but that story is best left unanswered-

several years ago Hugh delivered a yellow moke to me in Niagara Falls NY. I  had bought it as an unfinished project in MD, it was painted yellow but all in parts, it came with a crappy looking 848cc engine and tranny removed from the moke, Hugh asked me what l was going to do with the engine and as l had a fresh 998cc on hand, told him l wouLd probably sell it, Hugh said how much, l said $100.00 Hugh said $50.00, SOLD !

I was sending a gold moke to Aaron ( Metalwright)  in Illinois and Hugh was taking it out that day.

Well Hugh pulled in driving a little Tracker pulling his dual axle trailer, but had no place on the trailer for the engine, no problem, he had us help him lift the engine onto the trailer hitch and he lashed it on to the frame ahead of the trailer, well this weight made the Trackers front end pop up, not pretty but Hugh and his Nephew left Niagara Falls NY , played tourist in the Falls for a couple days then drove to Illinois and completed the delivery.

Aaron still has that moke today

And the moke l got in MD, sold it twice, bought it back, sold it in CT, now for sale for $100,000.00, ( l S*** you not)

There are many more of these stories out there

Yes finally home after 3 months. It's great to be home! Slept in my own bed last night and it was the best sleep I've had since I went into the hospital. Still have about 3 weeks to get my protein levels up so I can qualify for chemo. Keep praying, as I am still not ready for the treatments that will save my life.
