if this is a new MINI with heated and or auto-dimming mirrors - it's possible that whatever caused it to be lose and shaking around causes the wired connected to be loose, generating too much heat and damaged the mirror glass.

While driving down the road today i noticed my passenger side mirror bouncing all over the place. I tried to figure out what was wrong while driving and soon realized that it only happened while accelerating. If I pushed the clutch and revved the engine the mirror was fine. The only way to get it to happen was while accelerating, even slow acceleration showed the same issue. I never had a chance to get a video, and then while i was parked with the engine idling the mirror went black. It’s burnt looking and cracked.

Any thoughts?
