Wheel is on and I love it! I just bought another center which had a decent Austin crest. All the pieces together make a great original mini.

Thanks guys!

I've got a MK1 wheel without the horn button hanging in the garage that I'd let go for $50. I'll try to get some pics tonight. I do believe it may have a crack or two...

No not at all. That was the correct thing to do. It was a good deal for both. I think I have a MK2 wheel. Steve (CTR)

They all crack there, I think I have both horn buttons. I'm interested if he passes. Steve (CTR)

Hugh the Austin crest is there - just not the best example.  Also note the crack where the screw holds the horn assembly on.  But then eBay Australia has a new horn button assembly ( only ) for around the same $100 price.

Horn button on ebay. Not perfect but not priced that way.

As stated, the wheel can be hard to find but they do show up.

If you are not opposed to a repro horn button assembly, our host has them (part number 27H6943).

So you are looking for the "Bus Drivers Wheel"?  As you say Austin are you wanting the horn button with the wheel?  As for the easy thing to find I think you have answered your own question.  As you say Mk1 that particular wheel has got to be 50+ to 60 years old.  A.s such they were prone to cracking, but there are some repaired ones available from time to time.  I saw some horn buttons for upwards of $100 on the US eBay.
The wheel would be the same Austin or Morris with the only difference being the Austin crest or the Morris big red M center for the horn button.
I will try to check my spares and see if I have anything available.
