Well just a suggestion, but you could buy new nylock nuts in the hope they won’t move, and perhaps paint mark things, then drive it a bit to see that it all stays in the same place.

I clicked on the forum link from Morris Mania, but I guess there aren't any other Minor owners here.  Sucks to be me!

This forum is good for all cars Mini Mania deals with...which includes Morris Minors.

I think you may be on the wrong forum.

Your pictures don't look like a mini to me.

Car engines make CO2 and trees absorb CO2. By running your engine you're feeding a tree and helping the environment.

I'm currently re-bushing the front end of my '59 Minor.  Upon reassembly everything went together fine, except that the spigot isn't fully inserted into the rear arm.  The two arms are firmly bolted together and everything lines up.  There is a tiny bit of the splines on the torsion bar showing behind the arm so I don't think it's wise to move it any more forward.  In any case, it matches the other side which I haven't touched yet.

So my first question is, how far is the spigot supposed to go?  Seems like it should go all the way in.  And if so, what am I missing?

The other strangeness is that the lower trunion pin binds if I tighten the nuts all the way down.  The pin has a slot in one side and I think the previous owner left the front nut loose so keep it from binding.  The nut couldn't come off because the threads seemed to be spread.  I'm assuming this is not normal?  I've re-used all the parts so nothing has changed.
