Kim..is the PHAT lady behind the counter NOT happy with all the paperwork.??UK title is MUST for most states...and what kind of UK title do you have?/ one of the new V5.. red in color.. or the older green ones.. or the very old green log books..??Here is NC you do NOT need any kind of title. you just have to file out MVR 92 . which is title bond. and will cost you about $200.. later bc

So I am working through getting a title/registration for my mini. FL is pushing for more than a bill of sale from UK before even doing VIN inspection. (have all the import pieces- DOT, EPA, CBP). Car is a 63/67 mongrel/bitsa from UK. VIN is '63 (M-A2S4/181647-M) and Body parts suggest '67 (Wiper, trunk, etc.). For some odd reason it does have an old Cooper twin SU manifold setup. It is a Morris Mini Minor (850 magic wand in good driver condition). Lots of work done- some good good some marginal. Overall I am ok with car -fits my needs. Seller unfortunately has been less than transparent and am not sure what sort of response I'll get. Would like to know what he should be able to produce for title/ registration docs to make FL happy before I tag him. There is a UK Plate- EXB 262F (which also supports '67) but it doesn't show in the UK registration. (my guess is that it has been off the road for years before being rebuilt). Don't need to know what I should have done to avoid this hole but what I can do now- short of buying a cabin in NC . Any hints and suggestion on navigating this maze are welcome.
