We have heard of the footwell module requiring reprogramming to stop inexplicable electrical gremlins - not 'common', but also not unheard of.

I am thinking of selling the mini and i can't do that with a light on the dash so i took it to the dealer. I'm told the footwell module needs to be reprogrammed at a cost of $150 + $20 for the loaner car. 2010 mini's have an issue with the footwell module and if it goes wrong its covered under an extended warranty but as it just needs programming it isn't covered under the extended warranty. bugger.

Depending on how your MINI was equipped, that light is either a parking light only (top half only), or a parking light / fog light combination - see this product page.

If you only have a plug for one bulb, you probably have the parking light only and it is normal for the top half to illuminate.

Both front lights are only half illuminated, i took the bulb out rotated it 180 degrees and put it in again and it's the same result, just half illuminated.

I can't help with codes etc.

Re the shape of the illuminated fog light: Doesn't look right to me. What does the other one look like? is it round or half too?
Visually, I'd suspect the bulb holder is not inserted fully/correctly or the bulb itself is not properly seated in the holder.

Hi All

I have a 2010 mini cooper base, the right fog light in the bumper (below the main lights) had blown the bulb and the warning light was on the dash. I replaced the bulb and the light didn't go out. I did the diagnostic through the turn signal button and i got code cc-id 138 which i think is the left hand bulb. the bulb was a 2pac so i put the other new bulb in the left side. 

The light is still on the dash. (see picture)

I have a code reader but its not showing any codes?

Is it normal that only the top half of the fog light lights up? (see picture)

All the lights are working including the little lights in the wheel arch trim and the lights on the number plate.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
