This will be my last word on this issue. You can say what you want about it, but if you are going to tell the truth, please tell the whole story.
With 'dealers' like you, Craigslist looks like the a very good option.
You must be very knowledgeable about Minis......, but manners, respect for other's opinions, and, above all, honesty should be part of your 'business' approach to selling cars.

Bill....I drove to Earl to look and test drive (more, co-drive) one of the Minis for sale.....and it was not a pretty sight. It needed a lot to sort. What's more, I made an offer on it, was accepted, sen half of the money, began purchasing parts (rear subframe, tires....) only to find that the seller had already sold the car to somebody else in Mexico!!!! I got my money back, but was a complete disappointment. Buying from Ebay, at least, there is buyer's protection.
cheers,
Abel

I normally do not chime in in this kind of issues, specially personal ones, but all I I have to say is this: I tried to buy my Mini in person, I inspected one in Fuquay Varina and one in Earl, both in NC. They were nowhere near how the sellers had described them.
I then decided to jump into Ebay and found one that seemed (and was) honest. I bought it car sight unseen. I did not have any surprises or disappointments with it and have been enjoying it for over 8 years now. It was even cheaper than the ones in NC.
Please, let the potential buyers make their own informed decisions. I am sure that there are some scammers out there, but I was very lucky to find some board members here that really helped me to decide which was the right Mini for me. I did not regret my decision and I am very grateful for the advice I received,
cheers,
Abel

I purchased my mini sight unseen from a seller right here on MM. May have paid more than I could have but the seller represented the car honestly and extremely accurately. Purchased my Speedster Replica sight unseen. Same result. I had that one looked over by a club enthusiast prior to payment. All went well. Not all transactions go that well. Point being that fair deals are out there if you are patient and are honest about the purchase. Honesty goes both ways.

Well Bill,  Minis are not for sale in every street corner, so, if you are looking  and you see one you like, you may have to deal with whomever is selling it.  Maybe not you as you are a dealer, but the avg, guy, looking for one, will look into it, broker or not..  I surely would.

As for buying sight unseen, Mini, 17 years ago, still have it, from Mark Nolan, 65 Mustang, 12 yrs ago, still have it, 64 MGB, didn't keep that one long, needed $$$ for school,  not for everyone for sure but, it's worked for me.  A buyer could do much worse than this Mini .  Not shilling for Michael, just think that we should not be so quick to slam others in this  hobby of ours.  We all gotta eat!

I see a very nice Mk 1 Mini Cooper with a 1275 engine replacement and "S" badges,  I follow your dislike for ML but, he's telling it like it is.  Whether someone poneys up this kind of money for it???  Who cares?  maybe they'll buy it, have fun take it to Mini 60 and REALLY enjoy it, instead of keeping it in a garage and posting about it.
