There is a rumor there will be free craft beer for those who make it to the registration at the Westin Monday late afternoon (starting at 4pm)....

We have two cars coming from Victoria, following pretty much the same route as the Vancouver guys We'll meet up in Provo and join them for the last day of driving..  leaving on Friday morning..

Never mind, read your direction better and you don't go past the National Monument.

The cemetery where Doc is buried is just a short (but steep) hike up from Glenwood Springs.

Be aware that if you decide to go up to Hanging Lake, there is a reservation system, now. Glenwood Springs Brewpub is excellent.

Depending on which way you are heading back  - consider a stop at the Colorado National Monument. It's a smaller size Grand Canyon w/o the crowds and with better driving roads.

I've never been to the Black Canyon - is on my "must do" list one of these days.

We have 3 Classic Minis headed to Snowmass from the Fraser Valley in B.C.  1 Sedan, 1 Woody & 1 OZ Window Van, 2 Mechanics (1 Ice racer/1 Crew chief) and 1 old retired fuddy duddy...me.  Oh...and spouses!

We are travelling south together, but after MMEMW the youngsters will stay over in Snowmass, while this old guy takes wifey & younger Mini over Independence Pass at +12,000 feet to go see the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.  Next morning we will gather in Glenwood Springs (where Doc Holliday died) to head north to Jackson, Wyoming.  Then on to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone before turning west in Montana.

Here's hoping the rebuilt +100 1098 is faultless.
