This Moke might make next year but can't get it ready by tomorrow!  Will bring my other one.

Need any insight this group has on a 950cc engine for a Mini.  Dr. Mini suggested it might be for a prototype Moke.  Any other feedback from this group?  No engine ID tag on it.  There is a head in one of the wood crates that came with the Moke but I have not pulled it out to get the casting # yet.

Nice one Mark and Sarah. Clean it up throw a new battery in it and some fresh gas and come Moken in it, see you there.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Looking forward to seeing what Mark and Sarah do with this one. I talked with Mark last night and it sounded like a fairly solid Moke from what he described. Seeing as what their last restored Moke brought when the hammer dropped, I think they have a lot of room on this one. Perhaps they will keep it as it is and turn it into a service vehicle for their Land Rover adventures, I mean, it does match! Good luck with the new Moke!

Bill - Mrs. Tennmoke here. Your details are wanting. Hasn’t run in 2 years, but the engine has been turned over frequently in that time period.  The prior owner to Mrs Wells (spoke with him as well) had the stock engine balanced and rebuilt. Shows 20k miles on the clock, we believe it to be accurate. No evidence of a rats nest anywhere. The extra engine is a 950cc, not 1275. Early 60s with magic wand shifter.  Not sure what it is out of but wonder if it is of Australian origin.

We have owned the vehicle approximately  2 hours. We gave Mrs. Wells what she was asking for it and feel it was a bargain at that price.  Mrs. Wells was the owner of the Moke prior to her marriage to Gary, and she was an informed enthusiast, with a wonderful and rich history of Moke ownership. We offered to help her get the vehicle running again if she wanted to keep it, but she had decided it was time for the vehicle to move on to someone else.

Mark first saw the Moke at the Mini Meet in Atlanta in 1991 and had pictures in his stash of the vehicle that he shared with Mrs Wells. When we arrived, She showed us her Moke newsletter that featured Mark’s restoration of his Moke. She did throw in a requirement that we take her for a ride in the Moke one day, and we were happy to agree to that part of the deal. This is a wonderful Moke and it matches my orange Land Rover to boot. We will enjoy getting it on the road again.
