I took it to the dealer and it was the high pressure fuel pump. Although the car was out of the factory warranty, the high pressure fuel pump is covered for 100k miles. They replaced it and gave me a rent a car. Car ran much better after wards and no issue since. Good luck.

Could this be a HPFP going out? Any thoughts before I bring this to the dealer.
I've heard HPFP and carbon deposits may cause these errors.  Here is the BMW test / service plan:

P0087:  The fault is recognized when the relative rail pressure during engine operation is > 40 bar and a mixture fault or a fuel high-pressure fault is present at the same time.

Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in wiring harness between DME and rail-pressure sensor
- Defective rail-pressure sensor
- Defect in high-pressure system
- Defective DME

Repair procedures:
- Check wiring harness between DME and rail-pressure sensor
- Replace rail-pressure sensor
- Repair problem in high-pressure fuel system
- Replace DME

P15DF:  Fuel high-pressure system, cold start: pressure too low.  The fault is recognized when the pressure level in the high-pressure system is 3.5 bar lower than the specified value.

Potential problem source(s):
- Fuel tank empty
- Defective rail-pressure sensor
- Defect in low-pressure system
- High-pressure pump defective

Repair procedures:
- Check rail-pressure sensor
- Replace rail-pressure sensor
- Check low-pressure sensor
- Check operation of fuel pump
- Replace high-pressure pump
