The 731 cam needs timing in with full lift at 110° ATDC.
Ignition timing will depend on the state of the entire engine and should be dialled in on the rollers.

Hi Minimike
Cam timing is not the same thing as ignition timing... cam timing is "set" (or mostly verified) when building the engine. It refers to the specific timing between the cam and crank... exactly when the valves open and close.
Ignition timing may change for different cams, compression ratios, fuel quality, etc. Certainly it should run at 8 BTDC, then optimize from there.

Does a 731 cam install require different timing in a 1300 than a stock cam? I've got it at 8 BTDC. Wondering if I've missed something.
