Interesting that some in Australia do exactly that...put a round nose on a square nose Mini.  I agree with sedans but not so much with the LWB...and all that extra room to ease servicing, add an aux rad...I can actually change oil filters from the top end, what a treat!

Gee, for less than $5,000 one could buy the clubby and put a nice round nose on it!

When I open the bonnet...I don't need to squint.  Lots of room to change oil filters etc.

I agree the square nose is a bit much on the sedan...but suits the LWB much better.

I hope this doesn't fall into a grey area (like crashing an MPi) where the insurance company can wriggle out - will they try and class the organised drives count as a competetive event or a rally ?

I guess the organisers will have PLI coverage of some kind which may kick in.

Fingers crossed we as a group don't lose another van.

Maybe it will end up in a nearby junk yard and I can pick at it for parts. Ah the good old day's, at least I can still dream.

It would be intresting to know the percentage of owners that buy back the remains of their totaled collector vehicle from their insurance company, would suspect it quite high, except for fire.

Sure, anything is fixable, but economical is another story. From what I heard, the engine was pushed into the bulkhead and deformed it. The floors are buckled and the pedalbox is bent upwards. Both B pillars are also comprimised from what i heard. If he has good insurance to cover it, he'd be better off finding another van and making a trailer out of that one. IMHO!
