Agreed. $90 is a lot. On the other hand, I do understand that there is only a small market for the brackets so nothing will drive their cost lower. I'll just be content with my homemade ones.

I think that I could make one out of an old door hinge rather than pay $90. That is a lot of beer for me.

MM has this:

Not sure what the difference is, but these are available elsewhere:
BRACKET-SUN VISOR-STRAIGHT-'61-'64 £11.49 Ex VAT

Maybe it is a different style or a pair.

I have an original cooper or s set in cream crackle with original brackets, studs, washers, and nuts. Chrome on brackets is shot, visors have no cracks or bends, near perfect one side, other has some stains that may come out or not. Will post pics here tomorrow.

I can't find the invoice or the old ones to check.
I did not realize they were gold on the inside

Thanks Terry.
The text in the visor link is a little unclear but suggests the visor brackets must be purchased separately.
At the bottom of the visor page the the brackets are displayed as a "related item".

The visors are 29 GBP, the brackets are 36 GBP. I think for that price I will keep my reconditioned visors and homemade brackets... they look original enough.

I would need to look for the old ones to be sure.

Do those early visor kits from Newton come with the metal brackets? When I was putting my car together I had visors but no brackets. I fabricated some from scratch and they are OK but sometimes I'd like to put original(ish) parts on the car.

I may have the old set from our 64 Traveller. I am pretty sure we got replacements from Newton.

newton sells the center mount early sun visors also. It's probably not worth the cost to send yours back for an exchange. Maybe offer them here and just buy the correct ones for your car.

Fellow Minioids, OK, a little research helped. Sommerford Mini has a diagram of visors. It appears that my 1967 Mini may be a 1964 Mini as the center mounted visors were from 1959-64. The visor that hinged on the outside was from 1964-1965 and the outside corner mounted visors were from 1965 onward. If anybody has any early center mount visors and hardware I would be interested.

Fellow Minioids, I am still restoring my 1967 Morris Cooper S (Aussie). I have a pair of new visors from Newton Commercial. They don't fit. Currently on my Aussie Mini, there are two holes about 2-3 inches apart on the header-rail for attachment inside the car. The Newton visors have cheap plastic fittings at the ends that new holes must be drilled for at the outside. The Newtons don't work for crap as when I installed them on my 1968 Morris Mini Cooper S Mk2 they WILL NOT stay up. Now, my 1965 Mk1 Austin Mini Cooper 998 Mk1 has an entirely different type of visor. It has a pivoting chrome piece fixed to the outside corner and it fits up inside a hole in the header rail. ?????? Lastly, I see that there is a fourth type that has two chrome pieces, one at each end with 90 degree bends that screws up to the header rail. So, I am searching for a pair of visors that bolts up just off of the center 2-3 inches apart and the brackets are chrome or metal. But, I will take visors with metal brackets at the outside edges. Thoughts?
