Mayfairs were made from '84 till the late 90s, so this "1975" has almost certainly been reVINed at some point.

Do your research on that illegal process and contemplate whether you wish to purchase such a vehicle before diving in.

True

The OP however is talking about a British MINI

I got your e mail and replied with my phone number. I can send pictures on my phone but don't load them to the computer. I had a body guy look at the car yesterday and talked about dealing with the two small rust areas on this car. Send me a text and I'll get you the pics. Steve (CTR)

Bill i have seen several early 90's Mayfairs, a lot of them were J spec cars.
I think 8.4 disc brakes came in around 1984 or so.

Being a Mayfair it is more than likely a 80's or 90's car with an older identity but the reason it is a Morris is the vin number that is being used is more than likely from a 1975 Morris. That being said this is all speculative and if pics are posted we will be able to better inform the poster.
If you have no issues with a re vin (if that is the case) it is not a problem but you need to know the correct year so when you order parts you will get the correct ones sent to you.

No classic ( non-BMW MINI ) Mini has been imported into Canada or the USA with a Morris badge since slightly before 1970. All were sold ( in Canada ) after that as Austin Minis. If the car is truly a Morris, which it could be, it had to have been imported to the States at some point.

Do you have the VIN # ? Post it and we will decode it for you. As has been mentioned, the VIN #’s can be swapped quite easily on Minis. My guess , based on it being a 1975 Model , is that it was originally an Austin Mini imported from Canada. Quite a few Minis were imported from Canada during the 70’s and 80’s because new Minis were sold ( as Austins ) in Canada up to, and including 1980.

As with a re-vin, a classic Mini can be made to look like just about any Mini made from 1959 to the end of production. It may be a Morris Mini or may be just badged to look like it. Austins and Morrises came off the same production lines at some points.

"...Thanks for all of the quick response's. I hear you on the mini cooper thing. I think it is actually a mini may fair. ..."

There were no COOPERS in '75, nor MAYFAIRS either. What you are buying is either truly a 1975 rebadged as something it isn't ( a Mayfair) or (more likely) a later Mini from the 80's or 90's that really IS a Mayfair and has been "revinned" with documentation from some other long gone 1975 Mini.

Caveat Emptor.

A Mayfair would be a later model than a 1975. Post some pictures.

Just a note - Mini Cooper's were not made in 1975 - so when looking at price, don't be comparing it with an earlier true Mini Cooper.
