Output bushes are normally bored after clocking in to ensure concentrity.

I picked up a pair of pot joints and output covers with new bushings today. Latter reamed/honed to give 0.001" running clearance. These are for the A+ tranny build going under the 1293 for the Woody
Nothing special right? Well, just a tad problematic.
I took 3 new pot joints to the machine shop...there was 3 thou difference in their input shaft outside diameters and one shaft was both oval & tapering.
All 3 were ground/polished as required to get to a common size - 2 now finished. The 3rd new bushing too big. Took other new bushings up to the shop. It has one that can be reamed/honed to suit the 3rd cover.
Need two more covers bushed for the 1185's transmission going into the OZ van. And 1 more for my partner in power unit building.
Lesson measure everything...
