The fact that is louder when turning left and stops when turning right would normally point to a wheel bearing.
As the noise is slower than what the wheel is turning would possibly lead to a gearbox noise or issue.
Can you duplicate the noise on a lift or axle stands?

Ok, you've replaced both front bearings and the right axle and the noise did not change.
Replacing the right axle means new cv joints and the mid-shaft support bearings - so they shouldn't be the cause.
No dust shield on the right.

Just for kicks, have you tried swapping the right side tires from front to rear to see if it has any effect?
I presume the front bearings were properly greased and the axle nut was properly torqued when you replaced them...

Yes that one, bolted to the engine block. My son's car had the bearing go bad and it sounded just like a wheel bearing but in a vague sort of way if that makes sense? also as it changes turning left or right this gives an indication of load being a factor.
Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

Harbor freight sells an inexpensive stethoscope which is ideal for checking for noises. I also use a long thin screwdriver to my ear which works well but obviously does not have the flexibility of the rubber pipe Jim mentioned.

Does the noise seem to follow the rotation of the wheel? - does the speed of the noise follow the speed of the car?
Is it possible something from the front brakes is causing the noise?
Try lifting the right front wheel off the ground and see if the control arm has any 'play' - perhaps the control arm rear bushing is shot allowing some play to cause noise?
Do you have a manual or auto transmission?

Why don't you jack up the front end, put it on jack stands, make sure it's secure. Run the car in gear. And with a rubber tube put it against where you think the noise is coming from and the other end to your ear. Tube is like a stethoscope. Far easier than pulling tranny.
