Early Toyota Tercel seats, the ones with the hole in the headrest work well, I just fabbed up a bar to adapt them to the Mini brackets at the front, and some 1 inch sqaure tube legs at the rear to get the right angle.. You can see them via the link in my signature to my first build site..

Susuki Esteem....it's what I have in the PUP. Drove 3000KM to MMW and back in them.
Can't find a pic of them fitted......

The seats look very comfy. My 11 hour ride was to MME in Magog some
10 years ago I think. Anyways, I'm not up for any long distance driving
any longer.

And another shot of the fronts. I had a small bracket welded up to adapt the Acura rail fronts to the Mini mounts on the front of the cross member. I still have the template. The rear of the rails are sat on 2x2x2" steel tubing from the "ends and offs" rack at work.

Mike - 11 hours in Mk III seats?!!? God Bless. After two hours in a Mini my back doth protesteth.
Here are the Integra hatchback seats. The rear foams work as well, with steel removed and foam lightly trimmed to the Mini side contours.

I haven't taken them out (yet) to check for certain, but the seats in my wife's 91 Honda Prelude look like they would be a good fit. They're light and fairly comfy and have the benefit of removable headrests.

Minimike1, if you like something like the miata seats. You may want to look into the 1st generation Honda Insight seats, they are super light and in my opinion looks way better than the miata.

Mike,
The back seat access with the Chev seats is a little tighter, but if you put one of the seats all the way forward and fold it down, it's fine. The seats also lay completely back onto the rear seats. Believe it or not, the Camaro seats are so cozy you could easily spend a night in the Mini! I'm pretty sure my Mini is the only Mini that ever had '99 Camaro seats in it.

@rick,
how's the access to the back seat with the chevy seats?
I like the comfort factor, but would rather not sacrafice entry
to the back seat. I've driven 11 hours in the stock MK3 seats
in one shot and they are comfortable enough. My seat skins are shot, and
I thought it might be cheaper to find replacement seats than seat skins.
Anyone reskinned their MK 3's with a color change and still have some decent
old skins?

The most comfortable seats I ever sat in bar none in a Classic Mini were the seats in my '66 Morris Deluxe that came out of a 1999 Chevy Camaro. They fit beautifully. One of the seats will more than likely be powered. You can move that to either side of the Mini depending on whether it is LHD or RHD. These seats are one piece high back buckets, (hard to tell with the black firey seat covers!) Mini Estate

I really like my Miata seats. It's a bit of a tradeoff with the fixed highbacks, but as long as you don't need everyday access to the back seat then they're da bomb.

Older 1980's Honda CRX SI fit perfect, the ones with the square headrests with the hole in the middle. Later model Honda seats, one sided head rests, are made on an angle and the subframe for the seats become complicated.
Another model that was very popular in our club was Fiero as they had the speakers in the head rests.

I've seen posts from time to time on folks putting seats into their cars from other cars. Mazda, Honda, etc. Can anyone recall the post or know of some high back recliners that fit the mini well? I know I'll most likely have to make a subframe to bolt it in. That's not an issue for me.
thanks in advance.
