It's unlikely that you can remove the fender bolts without damaging them. Save a lot of frustration by using new hardware when it's time to Repair & Replace a fender. Also used to secure the front seats to the floor. 5/16 BSF threads.
Question:
What size and thread pitch are the fender bolts? I have a 5/16 BSF 16 thread pitch if I remember correctly but it seems wrong. Do I need a 5/16 BSF 18 or 20 since I’m trying to clean all the fender mounting nuts out before purchasing new bolts and don’t want to change the thread pitch. The tap seems to be the wrong pitch
Answer:
Hi ,
The charts I see show 22TPI for 5/16BSF. Here's a page from British Fasteners with their taps: https://britishfasteners.com/taps/bsf-taps.html
Hope that helps
