I wouldn't say "a lot" ... but there are quite few private imports.

I worked with JRA (Jaguar Rover Aus) in the early 90s and at that time they were looking at re-introducing the Mini to the Aus market. They brought in a couple for evaluation (I broke the Managing Director' :(( ....but decided the imported price + the necessary support network just wasn't viable economically..

Cheers, Ian

So.... you're saying mine's not and Australian Mini. Ok.

Perhaps it was assembled elsewhere - and sent to Australia (I'm aware there were a lot of UK and South African Minis also in OZ). It was originally shipped here to the states from Australia a couple owners previous to me - hence my thinking it was an "Australian" Mini.

My bad.

Thanks Willie for the turn signal stalk! I should be able to make that work on the car.

well it's not an Aussie Mini with internal hinges. All of ours had external hinges.

If it has internal hinges it’s not an Australian Mini…

No - it's a 75 (MK3 I believe). So internal hinges and roll-up windows.

Posting a picture here is easy. There is a green button for doing so to the left of the box you type in your message. You might have to reduce the size of the picture to get it to work. Also, it might not work from a cell phone.

Thanks all for the replies. I suppose it's possible the car has been modified after having been through several owners :-) It has what looks to be a MK3 signal switch / wiper combo on it currently after digging through some pics online (I can't seem to get a pic of my own car to post on here currently....). It doesn't actually have any wipers on it currently - so I suppose I only need the turn signal switch in reality. Planning to kit this one out mostly as an autocross and occasional street car...

Willie - how much with shipping to 61611?

Hi, Depending on which car you have, you Might have a plain old wiper switch down on the dash rail. Maybe the two speed kind. But, being Mr. PotatoHead cars, many Minis have been modded to any sort of switch. can you possibly show us a pic of the switch in it's place on your column? You may just have a really standard stalk type that looks much like what Willie has shown. But, as TK says, you then may not have an OZ mini. Either way, get a pic, and focus on the end of the stalk. Top tip: Look very carefully at the column wiring and dash wiring for clues to any mods along the way! Best, MSH

Good catch, didn't notice that about no wiper on the stalk.

There is no wiper switch assembly on the steering column of a '75 Aussie Mini. I'd be interested in seeing some photos of your Mini.

Like the title says - Wanting to buy the wiper and switch assembly in good working condition for the steering column of a 1975 RHD Australian market Mini. The one on mine is quite knackered. Also willing to buy a full column if that’s easier as well. Anyone have this in their parts stash?

I have cha-ching waiting and I’m in central Illinois. ??
