Yeah he lost 3rd gear.  Sounds like he was reving up to around 7000 rpm.  Engine sounded good!!

Yeah, he lost third gear. Ouch. He also seemed a little down on horsepower. Maybe the hill was steeper than it looked. Still, he could have benefited from a close ratio box. There’s a similar hill near me that has recently been repaved and it would seem to be an ideal road. But it’s a little too steep for third and not steep enough for second. Lots of shifting. Not as fun as it would seem.
