Craig - Thanks for posting about this. I'm a relatively new Mini owner—I picked up mine last summer and have been wanting to find a way to connect with more Mini owners around the Bay. If I can get the kinks worked out of my brakes this week (seized rear drum adjusters), I will definitely join Saturday.
Since I've not done the event before, what is the plan once we reach the coast? Is this a tailgate along the beach somewhere or is there a restaurant destination in mind? I'm just thinking of what I might need to bring—food, a cooler, beach chairs? Unlike my wife's car, which we keep stocked with random stuff, I don't keep anything extraneous in the Mini.
Thanks!
Scott

Are the 850's allowed to join? Considering the steep hills in the bay area?!! I think 5mph is good enough for a fun run. Anyway it sounds like a blast, have fun guys!

Get ready for the Annual Banzai Beach Blanket Bash!!!
This run includes some of the hottest Mini-friendly roads in the bay area mountains; starting in Woodside, CA and finishing in Half Moon Bay for lunch. The roads like Skyline Drive, Alpine Road, Hwy 84, and many others are calling us back and I don't know how any twisty-minded Mini owner could resist!
We will meet at 8:30 am in the parking lot in the rear of the Pioneer Hotel and Saloon just west of the 280 at 2925 Woodside Rd. Woodside, CA 94062
Watch your speed through Woodside because it is heavily watched by the local peace officers and bikes and pedestrians abound. There is a gas station directly across from the Hotel if you need a fill up before we get underway.
We will depart on this excellent driving adventure at 9 am sharp, or whenever we feel like departing, to get to the coast at a proper time for lunch. Good times were had by all last year, don’t miss it!
